I Survived the Battle of Gettsyburg, 1863

Thomas and Birdie are slaves on the run, heading north in search of freedom.  Things are going well until they cross paths with the Union and Confederate armies who are marching to battle at Gettysburg.  Thomas is able to befriend a young Union soldier, who is able to protect them from the southerners.  It seems as if Thomas and Birdie are well on their way to finding the freedom they are looking for.  Until the battle begins...
